A year after the release of their acclaimed debut album, Couldn't Give A Rats, The Scratch's Jordan O'Leary has shared a powerful new solo project, The Burren Tapes.
The three-track release was recorded while the Irish four-piece were in Clare, writing for their next album. Featuring classic Irish folk songs 'Sullivans John', 'Skibbereen', and 'Portlaoise Jail', The Burren Tapes was recorded mixed and mastered by The Scratch's manager, Éamonn Conway, and features a guest appearance from O'Leary's bandmate Daniel Lang playing cajon.

The Scratch have consistently thrown predictability to the wind – embracing absurdity and anarchy in equal measure as they garner legions of devotees off the back of their famously raucous live shows.

They continued to blur the boundaries between folk and metal in their own wildly unique way on their debut album Couldn't Give A Rats, released in March 2020. The album went on to make Hot Press's Top 10 Albums of 2020. Over lockdown, they also contributed a cover of 'Sweet Thing' to Hot Press's Rave On Van Morrison celebration. Tickets for their Irish tour are on sale now.
