"Can’t believe it’s been two years. Feels like yesterday we were in the studio working on the next tune..."
Taking to social media this morning, The Script have shared a special post paying tribute to their late bandmate Mark Sheehan, on the second anniversary of his death.
Mark passed away in hospital on April 14, 2023, at the age of 46, following a brief illness.
"Can’t believe it’s been two years," the band's post reads. "Feels like yesterday we were in the studio working on the next tune. Your impact on this world will never be forgotten. And with each year your legend only grows further. We’ll continue on what you started. Miss you brother...
"Love and prayers to everyone who’s missing this man a little more than normal today."
At the time of his death, figures from across the music world and beyond shared moving tributes to Mark – including President Michael D. Higgins, Take That, will.i.am, Joan Armatrading, and Imelda May.
In a statement issued last year, The Script's Danny O’Donoghue and Glen Power told fans that, out of respect to Mark, they intended to continue as a band, but wouldn’t attempt to replicate their classic three-piece line-up. Instead, they said, they were reconfiguring as a four-piece, bringing in bassist Ben Sargeant and guitarist Ben Weaver as official members.

Last August, they released their latest album Satellites – which debuted at No.1 in Ireland, and No.2 in the UK.
