Ahead of their upcoming Irish tour this Summer, The Script have released a new acoustic version of their hit 'Superheroes'.

Originally a single from their 2014 album No Sound Without Silence, the track is a preview of their upcoming EP, The Acoustic Sessions 3.

Released on March 17, the collection will also include new takes on 'Paint The Town Green', 'I Want It All' and 'Good Ol' Days.

It will be the band's first output since their greatest hits compilation, Tales From The Script, came out last year.

The Script will also have more new material out tomorrow, with a live video of 'Paint The Town Green' dropping to "kick-start the St. Patrick's Day celebrations".

In an extensive and intimate interview last year, the band's frontman Danny O'Donoghue talked to Hot Press's Stuart Clarke about many topics, including not taking life for granted.

"Dude, life is too short. If you want to do something, don't procrastinate, just fucking do it or else you'll be on your deathbed going, 'What if…'," he said.

I have what I call 'a funeral state of mind' I'm not going to wait till I'm standing over your dead body to tell you how I feel about you. I'm gonna look you in the eye and tell you right now. Call me a cheesy bollocks and tell me to 'fuck off', I don't care."
