Mark Sheehan died in April 2023 at the age of 46 following a brief illness
The Script have announced the addition of two new members, transitioning from a three to a four-piece, following the death of guitarist Mark Sheehan last year.
Sheehan, who co-founded the band with Danny O'Donoghue, passed away in April 2024 after a brief illness.
O’Donoghue and drummer Glen Power shared in a recent statement that they would be transitioning to a four-piece with the addition of bassist Ben Sargeant and guitarist Ben Weaver.

The band started their statement by thanking their fans for their “love and support” during “the toughest year of our lives.”
They went on to explain their reasoning behind these changes, writing: “The Script, as a three-piece, will never be the same, so transitioning to a four-piece feels like the right way to go.
“It is a sign of respect to leave the past as it was and not attempt to replicate it, as we simply never will.”
"The Script family means everything to us,” they concluded. “Without you, there is no Script, so we wanted to share our plans with you first before we start this new chapter. We can't wait to see you on the road."
