The band have announced screening dates for both Dublin and Belfast.
The Smile have shared ‘Friend Of A Friend’, the latest single from their forthcoming sophomore album Wall Of Eyes.
Having already debuted the track during their live shows, the studio version features strings from the London Contemporary orchestra and saxophone playing from Robert Stillman.
The ‘Friend Of A Friend’ music video, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, will be premiered along alongside a surround sound album playback of Wall Of Eyes at a series of one-off events hosted at independent cinemas across the world.
There will be a Dublin screening taking place at the IFI on January 24 with a Belfast equivalent at the Queen’s Film Theatre on January 20. Tickets can be found HERE.
Wall Of Eyes, On Film celebrates the new album as well as the band’s collaboration with the renowned motion picture director.

The events will feature a Wall Of Eyes playback in its entirety (for the first and only time with surround sound), never-before-seen footage of the LP’s recording sessions, the aforementioned premiere of ‘Friend Of A Friend’ and a presentation of Wall Of Eyes, both directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and shot on 35mm film.
Also being shown is a programme looking at the Anderson’s previous work with Thom Yorke and Radio Head, which includes ANIMA, Daydreaming, Present Tense and The Numbers.
The Smile’s upcoming record is out on January 26 via XL Recordings and is available for preorder now.
