The show is the first since the collective took to the stage in the Sugar Club in the early '00s.
Veteran Dublin band The Sofas have announced their first gig in over twenty years, reuniting for one night only at Whelan’s on July 18, 2024.
Made up of some of Ireland’s highly regarded session musicians and producers, they’ve individually collaborated with the likes of Ronnie Wood, David Gray, Toots and the Maytals, Sinead O’Connor and T Bone Burnett.
Members include Wayne Sheehy on drums, bassist Robbie Malone, guitar player Conor Brady and Cian Boylan on keys. Joining them as a special guest for the evening is Declan Whitston on saxophone.
Wayne Sheeny is one of Ireland’s most experienced professional musicians and producers and has toured with names such as Ron Wood, Bo Diddley and Peter Gabriel.

As well as being nominated 3 years in a row for musician of the year in the Hot Press readers’ poll, Dubliner Robbie Malone has been a part of David Gray’s band for the last 25 years and has contributed on both songwriting and production credits with the English heavyweight on numerous records.
Conor Brady is regarded as one of Ireland’s finest guitar players. He began playing with Paul Cleary and The Blades in the mid ’80s and was a member of the Partisans, as well as recording with Terence Trent D’Arby.
Working as a producer, pianist, composer, arranger, musical director, and songwriter in the music industry for over 25 years, Cian Boylan’s credits include Sinéad O’Connor, Bono, Brian Eno and Gregory Porter, to name a few.
