The soundtrack for BACK TO BLACK will release on May 17, entitled Back To Black: Songs from the Original Motion Picture

The release of the film BACK TO BLACK, based on the life of Amy Winehouse, is set to hit cinemas across Ireland & the UK on April 12, 2024. To accompany this film, UMR/Island Records announced the release of the compilation album, Back To Black: Songs from the Original Motion Picture, on May 17, 2024.

Featuring twelve songs, the album includes three original recordings from Amy's debut album, Frank, as well as three tracks from her album, Back To Black. The album introduces a new track titled 'Song for Amy,' sung by Nick Cave. The film's score, composed and recorded by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, adds another layer of depth to the movie.

In addition to Amy's tracks, the album pays homage to the artists who inspired her, including The Shangri-Las, Billie Holiday, Minnie Riperton, Dinah Washington, and Sarah Vaughan. Their voices, heard throughout the film, contribute to Amy Winehouse's musical legacy.

Directed by filmmaker Sam Taylor-Johnson, BACK TO BLACK stars Marisa Abela as Amy Winehouse, supported by a cast including Jack O'Connell, Eddie Marsan, Juliet Cowan, and Lesley Manville. The film follows Winehouse's journey to fame, highlighting her creativity and honesty.

Back To Black: Songs from the Original Motion Picture will be available in various formats, including vinyl, CD, and digital, with deluxe editions featuring behind-the-scenes photographs captured by Sam Taylor-Johnson. The album's release coincides with the UK & Irish cinema premiere of BACK TO BLACK on April 12, 2024.
