The series will come out on Sunday May 26.
A new radio documentary about the Scottish band The Trashcan Sinatras is set to air on Radio Nova this Sunday.
Formed in Irvine, Scotland in 1986, The Trashcan Sinatras have released six much-loved albums over the course of their career, which brought them play to audiences all over the world.
Singer John Douglas has co-written songs with his wife Eddi Reader, such as ‘Wild Mountainside’ and ‘Maid O’ The Loch’, and has been a part of her touring and recording band for nearly 20 years.
The latest in a series of radio documentaries on the station, the programme is produced by Ken Sweeney, entertainment correspondent for the Irish Sun. He previously produced award-winning documentaries such as R.E.M: Out of Athens, In Search of the Blue Nile and The Go-Betweens & The Irish Writers.
Speaking to RTÉ, Sweeney said: "I’m staggered that no one has made a radio documentary about The Trashcan Sinatras before

"The stories the band told me blew my mind, as did the opportunity to turn it into a soundscape of their beautiful music with the help of Grammy-nominated engineer Billy Farrell and Radio Nova.
"The Trashcan Sinatras are great company,” he concluded, “and their stories will have you laughing and reminiscing."
The first episode of the radio documentary series is set to air on Radio Nova this Sunday May 26 at 9pm.
