The 'Cosy Karaoke Vol.1' EP cover follows the band’s rendition of Queens Of The Stone Age’s 2002 single ‘No One Knows’.
After releasing a cover of Queens Of The Stone Age's 'No One Knows' last week as the first taster of their Cosy Karaoke, Vol. 1 covers EP, The Vaccines have shared a cover of Kacey Musgraves' disco shimmer track 'High Horse'.
On the new spin on the single, The Vaccines strip back Musgraves’ funk-laced bass grooves.
In a video for the cover, frontman Justin Young sings along to the track, wearing a white cowboy hat and standing in front of a cutout of Elvis Presley.
The original version of ‘High Horse’ featured on Musgraves’ 2018 album Golden Hour, which won the Grammys for both Album Of The Year and Best Country Album at the 2019 awards ceremony.
The Vaccines have been working on their fifth album, the follow-up to 2018’s Combat Sports. Young confirmed back in December that the new record was finished.
Hot Press gave Combat Sports a 9/10 review back in 2018, with Wayne Byrne writing:

"A couple of songs – ‘Take It Easy’ and ‘Someone to Lose’ – pass by pleasantly, but these are the rare exceptions in an album of otherwise majestic highs. Combat Sports is polished without losing the ragged rock n’ roll quality so crucial to The Vaccines; it is slick and smoothly crafted without sacrificing immediacy and raw power; it is a marvellous piece of pop-rock in every way."
Their Cosy Karaoke, Vol. 1 EP is yet to get a release date or full tracklisting, but is available to pre-save now.
