As the days get darker thoughts turn to summer time and the 8th instalment of Dublin city centre’s multi-stage music and arts festival, Bulmer's Forbidden Fruit..
The War On Drugs will make a triumphant return to Ireland this summer. The Philadelphia based six piece have recently released their fourth full length album A Deeper Understanding, which went into the Top 5 in the Irish album charts and gained a slew of favourable reviews.
Brooklyn 4 piece GRIZZLY BEAR pair wide-ranging lyrics with expansive arrangements in playful, rhythmically driven songs. Growing from humble roots into one of the most acclaimed indie rock acts of the 2000s and 2010s, Grizzly Bear began as the home recording project of Boston-bred singer Edward Droste.
LA Indie Rock 4 piece WARPAINT will join this magnificent roster. Their debut record The Fool was released in 2010, earning them slots at Glastonbury and Coachella festivals, to name a few. The band’s 3rd full length LP Heads Up was released at the end of 2016 to critical acclaim/
Bassist/songwriter/vocalist Stephen Bruner, aka THUNDERCAT, has music deeply rooted within. He has released three solo albums, including DRUNK, which was released earlier this year. Drunk is a 23-track epic journey into the often hilarious, sometimes dark mind of Thundercat featuring a few of his friends joining him along the way including: Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Michael Mcdonald, Kenny Loggins, Wiz Khalifa, Kamasi Washington and Flying Lotus. Thundercat appeared on Kendrick Lamar's critically acclaimed 2015 album To Pimp a Butterfly in 2016, winning a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for his work on the album’s track These Walls.

FF also have Austin, Texas’s most esteemed rock ambassadors SPOON taking the stage, fresh from the release of their ninth studio album Hot Thoughts. The band’s LP came out to a cavalcade of critical acclaim in March.
On top of this, the festival will see n appearance from SUPERORGANISM. The Transatlantic group, who feature Maine, New England-based, Japanese vocalist Orono and a sprawling line-up of international musicians / pop culture junkies currently based in London, first introduced themselves at the start of 2017 with the idiosyncratic, technicolour pop of ’Something For Your M.I.N.D’. The track burned brightly, causing a huge stir online and across the airwaves (including plays by a certain Mr Frank Ocean) but a crash course in unintentional copyright infringement means that it currently resides in the ‘Oops, we couldn’t find that track’ files. However, those desperate for their Superorganism fix won’t be disappointed. ‘It’s All Good’ is another intoxicating curveball from this much talked-about new band, and an undeniably worthy follow up to their fizzing debut.
