Tickets for The Waterboys at Iveagh Gardens from €48.20 go on sale Monday, 19th December 2022 at 9am from Ticketmaster.
Epic live band The Waterboys are coming to the Iveagh Gardens, Dublin on July 14th 2023, MCD announced today.
From their mid-1980s "big music" period through the influential mix of Celtic, gospel and country on their classic Fisherman’s Blues tours, to the hundreds of shows accompanying the last decade's run of albums - 2011's An Appointment With Mr Yeats to this summer's Good Luck, Seeker - The Waterboys have consistently reached new heights of performance.
Led by mercurial and brilliant Scottish guitarist/vocalist Mike Scott, the 2020 version of the band features the established line-up of Memphis keyboard great "Brother" Paul Brown, ace British drummer Ralph Salmins and funky Irish bassman Aongus Ralston.
The Waterboys' reached can't be underestimated. Their songs have been performed by artists as varied as Prince, The Killers and U2, all of whom have performed their classic 'The Whole Of The Moon'; and Fiona Apple who masterfully recorded the song last year.

Ellie Goulding scored a top 3 UK hit with 'How Long Will I Love You' while indie rockers The War On Drugs, Dawes and The Mystery Jets - plus and classic singers Rod Stewart and Tom Jones - have all put their spin on the band's tracks.
'The Whole Of The Moon' also featured in last year's smash Netflix film Let It Snow and top HBO series The Affair. Waterboys music shows no sign of fading, and the best place to experience it is played by the originators in the live setting of the stunning Iveagh Gardens.
The group released their latest LP, All Souls Hill, on April 22. The first two tracks taken off of the record – 'The Liar' and title track 'All Souls Hill' – were accompanied by haunting, collage visuals that played into the eerie "psychodramatic soundscape" of the Waterboys' latest offering.
Steve Wickham has announced a step back from touring with the classic Edinburgh-formed outfit as of February this year. After touring with the group for almost 21 years, the Irish fiddler has decided to "concentrate on his work" for the time being. Wickham will be back for future Waterboys projects but will not be a part of the regular line-up.
Issuing a statement on their website, the remaining members spoke of Wickham's departure saying: "We wish him every success and look forward to when future Waterboys' projects bring him back for more adventures. We will keep you posted on what he gets up to."
