Following the successful of last weekend's Dublin Racing Festival, Leopardstown Racecourse has made its first announcement for the Live at Leopardstown Summer Series.
Now in its 9th year, Bulmers Live at Leopardstown has established itself as Ireland’s premier racing and live music event, bringing superb international acts to the racecourse over the years. Sister Sledge, The Human League, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Johnny Marr, and Happy Mondays have lined up alongside some stunning Irish acts, including The Boomtown Rats, Hot House Flowers, The Coronas and Ash.
Joining this list of names this summer will be the revered Waterboys.
Frontman Mike Scott was already a legend before he moved to Ireland to record and release the iconic Fisherman’s Blues. Already international known for the hit single ‘The Whole of the Moon’ Scott had been marked as an inspirational songwriter, but with 1988's Fisherman’s Blues, The Waterboys contributed to a resurgence in in Irish traditional music.
The Waterboys will play the concluding event for Bulmers Live at Leopardstown on Thursday 16th August. There will seven other events, starting on 7th June and running through to August, which will feature a fantastic line-up and will be released over the coming weeks.
