The Wedding Present have announced a series of Ireland and UK tour dates for their 40th anniversary.

The band will make appearances in Cork, Limerick and Dublin beginning in September. This comes on the heels of their 35th anniversary tour for debut 1989 album Bizarro, ending in June. Tickets are on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

The Wedding Present were assembled by singer and guitarist David Gedge and bassist Keith Gregory, recruiting Peter Solowka on guitar and Shaun Charman on drums. The band formed in 1985 in Leeds, going on to earn 18 UK Top 40 singles.

In addition to the tour, the band plans to announce The Wedding Present musical to celebrate their 40 years. Supporting acts are yet to be announced.
