The White Stripes put the disappointment of last year's cancelled Oxegen performance behind them when they jet in for two shows in Ireland
The shows are set for Dublin's Marlay Park on August 24 and an as-yet-unspecified Belfast venue on the 25th.
Tickets for both gigs go on sale on June 25.
Meanwhile, Jack White has said that despite breaking a finger and getting done for assaulting Jason Stollsteimer, "It's been the best year of my life. I've gotten the chance to play with or be on the same stage as Bob Dylan, Loretta Lynn, Beck, Jeff Beck, David Bowie and Iggy Pop. These are things that I never thought would be possible."
Asked to whittle that list down to the one highlight, he goes for helping Loretta Lynn come up with her Hotpress-endorsed Van Lear Rose.
"I couldn't believe they let me do it. We got really, really close to the real Loretta making that record."
One thing he hasn't enjoyed is his higher public profile.
"I hate the word 'celebrity'," White concludes. "Celebrity is very empty. It's like all the people talking about Paris Hilton or whatever."
