The Wonder Years are blasting into the Button Factory this year, bringing pop punk, rock ’n’ roll, and a ‘genuine emotional energy’ to the stage.
Hailing from Philadelphia, the group of old friends known as The Wonder Years are set to bring their loud and energetic selves to The Button Factory on the 18th of April, 2018. The band will return to Ireland and the U.K. in the wake of the release of Sister Cities, their sixth studio album due to be released on the 6th of April.
Since forming in 2005, the pop punk icons have toured over thirty countries and sold out arenas worldwide, their music laden down with catchy lyrics and rough guitar riffs found in songs such as ‘Cardinals’, from their 2015 album Closer to Heaven. They focus on the “what if” factor of the pop punk genre - love, life, what could and what almost happened and mould it into something loved by critics and fans. Hanif Abdurraqib, an American poet and culture critic, writes that they’re trying to build a bridge from somewhere bad, to somewhere better. Something The Wonder Years are succeeding in.
