Former Archive frontman Craig Walker and former Nouvelle Vague singer Phoebe Killdeer have joined forces on a new indie/electronica act called THEM THERE, releasing their new single 'Blaze' and a radio edit remix by Orbit.
'Blaze' tells the same story from two perspectives, "one trying to feel happy even when far from your loved ones, and one feeling sad imagining your loved ones far away and happy without you".
Accompanying the tracks, are music videos, directed by Alex Forge. The trippy video makes heavy use of Instagram's 'boomerang' feature, which is in itself a mini video that plays forward and also backward. Forge explained, "people use it to show how amazing their life is, showing themselves partying in an eternal loop or making the most amazing splash in the most sublime lake over and over again. In the 'Blaze' video, it's boring and unexciting moments that are endlessly repeated, emphasising how there is a lack of synchronicity between their actions and their soul."
THEM THERE isn't a first foray into music for either Walker or Killdeer, both of whom had successful careers in music prior to their partnership.
Walker first began playing in bands such as Power of Dreams and Archive, releasing four albums. In 2013, Walker released his debut album with his latest project Mineral, and in the meantime he continues to write for and with other musicians.
Killdeer worked with French band Nouvelle Vague on their album 'Bande à Part', touring the world with the band. Prior to this, Killdeer was featured on Basement Jaxx' 2003 album Kish Kash, embarked on a solo career and tour, performed with Phoebe Killdeer & the Short Straws and Phoebe Killdeer & the Shift.
Killdeer and Walker first worked together on the track 'The Fade Out Line' on Killdeer's 2011 album 'Innerquake'. The track was picked up by French house producer The Avener, becoming a huge hit, played in DJ sets internationally.

THEM THERE will release their debut album 'Love Is An Elevator' on an unconfirmed date later this year. The album produced by Victor Van Vugt (Nice Cave, P.J Harvey), features work from Knox Chandler (Siouxie and the Banshees, R.E.M), Tyler Pope (LCD Soundsystem), Jan-Hendrick Schmid on guitars, Tim Gane (StereoLab) on keyboards, Raphael Sequinier (Rufus Wainwright) on drum.
