Sounds from a Safe Harbour (SFSH) returns for its third edition this year, taking place in venues across Cork city from Tuesday 10 to Sunday 15 September 2019.

A number of high profile artists have already announced, including Damien Rice & special guests, Feist, Efterlang, Gradnbrothers, Sam Amidon, and Lhasa – a live performance tribute to Lhasa de Sela by Andrew Barr (The Barr Brothers), Bryce Dessner (The National), Clarice Jensen, Dustin O'Halloran, Emma Broughton, Joel Shearer, Leslie Feist (Feist), Mélissa Laveaux, Pauline DeLassus (Mina Tindle) & Todd Dahlhoff.

The festival has also welcomed a number of additions this morning.

One of the performances will see the appearance of two of the most celebrated talents making contemporary music today - Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and Thomas Bartlett - who renowned for their work together as part of The Gloaming and individually with the likes of Laurie Anderson, Garth Knox, Sufjan Stevens and St. Vincent. On a new self-titled album, released by The Dwelling / Real World Records 13th September, they unite to create an LP of exceptional beauty.

With Bartlett on piano and Ó Raghallaigh on Hardanger d'amore, the duo will perform a special show as part of Sounds From a Safe Harbour at Live at St Luke’s on Saturday 14th September.

Teaċ Daṁsa’s acclaimed production of Swan Lake/Loch na hEala makes it’s Cork debut from 10 to 12 September at Cork Opera House. The production premiered at the 2016 Dublin Theatre Festival, for which it won the Irish Times Best Production Award, captivating both audiences and critics alike, and has since toured extensively nationally, and internationally to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Hong Kong, South Korea, UK, Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Moscow.

Performed by a company of 13 world-class performers, including actor Mikel Murfi and new cast member Rosaleen Linehan, Swan Lake/Loch na hEala is interwoven with storytelling, song and live music. Dublin based band Slow Moving Cloud’s score combines Nordic and Irish traditional music with minimalist and experimental influences. With powerful imagery, this Swan Lake is rooted in the Midlands of Ireland where ancient mythology and the modern world collide.

Coughlan’s Live, the award winning intimate live music venue, will also host three amazing acts: La Force, aka Ariel Engle, vocalist and newest member of Broken Social Scene, who will fill the cosy space with her nocturnal electronic pop sounds and enchanting vocals on Friday 13th September; Haitian-Canadian Mélissa Laveaux will perform a combination of folk, indie pop, and her signature percussive finger-style blues guitar on Saturday 14th September; and 22 year old singer songwriter Rosie Carney from Hampshire, UK now living in Donegal, brings her beautifully heartfelt songs inspired from the rugged landscape that surrounds her, on Sunday 15th September.
