Grammy-nominated artist SOPHIE died on Saturday, aged 34.
Tim Burgess is set to pay tribute to the late producer and artist SOPHIE through his popular 'Tim's Listening Party' online series – with a spotlight on SOPHIE's debut studio album, 2018's OIL OF EVERY PEARL's UN-INSIDES, on Sunday, February 14.
In an official statement released over the weekend, SOPHIE's team announced that the Grammy-nominated artist had died following a sudden accident in Athens in the early hours of Saturday morning, aged 34.
Transgressive, the record label that released OIL OF EVERY PEARL's UN-INSIDES, also issued a statement – revealing that, "true to her spirituality", Sophie "had climbed up to watch the full moon and accidentally slipped and fell."
Tim Burgess, the lead singer of The Charlatans, launched his 'Tim's Listening Party' series as the UK entered its first lockdown in March 2020 – and has since featured albums by the likes of Róisín Murphy, The Pogues, The Waterboys, Fontaines D.C., and The Murder Capital. Fans are invited to stream or play the album in question, while following the relevant Twitter accounts to watch and take part in discussions about the album in real time – using the hashtag #timstwitterlisteningparty.

The upcoming special 'Tim's Listening Party', held in SOPHIE's honour, will differ from previous editions – with Burgess revealing that there will be "no guests, no tweets from me, just the songs."
