Fans noticed the singer skipped Lizzo's name in her recent Renaissance tour stop, instead singing Erykah Badu’s name four times.
Mother of the Queen B, Tina Knowles, has addressed the rumours circulating online about a recent performance of 'Break My Soul'. Performing at Foxborough, Massachusetts on Tuesday, August 1, as part of the Renaissance tour, Beyoncé stunned fans by skipping Lizzo's name in the track as allegations emerged about the singer.
The original lyrics read: “Rosetta Tharpe, Santigold, (Vogue) Bessie Smith, Nina Simone (Vogue), Betty Davis, Solange Knowles. Badu, Lizzo, Kelly Rowl”, however, footage from the recent show sees the singer skim over Lizzo’s name and instead repeat Erykah Badu’s name four times.
Following the set, fans immediate took to social media, speculating that this was related to the recent allegations raised against Lizzo that same day.
Lizzo is being sued by three of her former dancers, who recently alleged the singer of pressuring a co-worker to touch a naked performer in an Amsterdam club and subjecting dancers to “excruciating” auditions. You can read more about the allegations here.
However, Ms Tina Knowles has confirmed this had nothing to do with the alleged actions of Lizzo. Commenting on a fans post claiming that the singer had changed the lyric to subtly criticise Lizzo and Badu and “hitting 2 birds with one stone”, the mother of Beyoncé and Solange Knowles said: "She also didn’t say her own sisters name yal should really stop.”
Tina's comment was made in reference to Solange (Beyoncé's sister) Knowles’, name also being omitted from the performance. In addition, former Destiny’s Child bandmate, Kelly Rowland, was also not mentioned in the specific performance.

Fans were quick to thank Knowles for commenting on the speculation, with one responding “Thank you for setting the record straight Ms. Tina,”, while another agreed, writing: “Say it mama Tina.”
