To Dreamers
Set rickenbackers to pastiche!
“Set 12 string rickenbackers to pastiche, Spock, we’re going to a 21st century indie club and we need to fit in!” There are always going to be people in the indie-community who believe that music begins and ends with The Byrds, The Beach Boys and The Beatles. Like the poor, these people will always be with us. That’s not always a bad thing, of course. And while you probably have the prototypes for this record already in your collection, this is an enjoyably robust, jangly, melodically satisfying and reasonably self-aware (“I’m keeping the flame!” he sings accurately on ‘Keeping the Flame’) contribution to the shrine.
Key Track: ‘Keeping the Flame’
