Great and good Dublin musical talent come together to pay tribute to the late Heartbreaker
We’re all still raw around here over the untimely passing of the great Tom Petty. To honour his memory, local hero (by way of Finland) Johnny Rayge is hosting a tribute night in the salubrious surroundings of Dublin’s Grand Social this Thursday night. Johnny is much admired for his Neil Young tribute act, wowing us all at this year’s annual Levon Helm Tribute with his version of ‘Helpless’, as well as his own, more raucous material.
Among the guests promised on the night are the lovely Lisa McLaughlin, Brad Gillis, Mick Morris, Luke Nelson and Niall Moore. Rayge will front a seven-piece band which includes the like of Louisiana Six man Morgan Baker, Anthony Gibney of Audioland Studios fame, Katherine Wyers, Fiachra White, Jane Willow, Fernando Castilhos, and Djollie from electronic genre-meshers WOB!
They’ll tackle tunes from throughout Tom’s triumphant tenure.

Doors open at 8, and admission is a paltry €10, with all proceeds going to the Peter McVerry Trust, a charity which works to reduce homelessness and the harm caused by drug misuse and social disadvantage.
