The line-up for Good Friday’s Late Late Show with Ryan Tubridy has been announced – and it’s not to be missed.
Boomtown Rat’s frontman and activist Bob Geldof will join Ryan in conversation likely to revolve around his recent controversy when, in a PR stunt gone awry, he handed back his Freedom of the City to Dublin City Council, only have the Council to strip him of the award anyway. Geldof's actions were in response to the awarding of the same medal to Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi. Geldof was attempting to protest the treatment of Rohingya muslims in Myanmar.
Also on the cards is a discussion of the Marriage Equality referendum, and what the result means for his relationship with his homeland.
Former RTÉ newsreader and national treasure Bryan Dobson will appear, recounting the most memorable moments as a newsreader in his 21 year career and discussing his feelings on moving to a new position on radio at Morning Ireland.
Cork-born New York based comedian Maeve Higgins will join Ryan on the sofa to discuss breaking the notoriously difficult US market.
Multi-instrumentalist Finbar Furey will perform and chat to Ryan about his new album, and signing a new record deal at the age of 71.
