The two-time GRAMMY winner' new track 'Sorry Would Go A Long Way' is available now, while waiting for the release of the Inspired by True Events album.
Only three weeks until the full album is released on the 9th of August by her label Capitol Records. On that same day, Tori Kelly will launch the album with a performance at New York City’s Rockefeller Plaza, which will air on “TODAY” as part of the 2019 Citi Summer Concert Series.
Inspired by True Events was co-produced and co-written by the American singer and songwriter herself. Jimmy Napes, best known for his work with the likes of Sam Smith, Alicia Keys, Rita Ora, Disclosure or Mary J Blige, also took part in writing several songs, and co-produced the album.
It follows Tori’s 2018 album, Hiding Place, which won the GRAMMY Award for Best Gospel Album while the chart-topping lead single, 'Never Alone' (Feat. Kirk Franklin), took the Best Gospel Performance/Song prize. Produced by Franklin, a 12-time GRAMMY Award winner, the album marked a stylistic departure from Tori’s work in the pop world.
Her 2015 debut album, Unbreakable Smile, entered the Billboard 200 on the second best position, with the Gold-certified singles 'Nobody Love', 'Should’ve Been Us' and 'Hollow'. It earned her a 2016 GRAMMY nomination for Best New Artist and recognition as a breakthrough artist at Billboard’s 2015 Women in Music ceremony.
She had first came under the limelight when she appeared as a semi-finalist on the ninth season of American Idol in 2010. She went on to independently release her self-produced debut EP in 2012, named Handmade Songs by Tori Kelly and has lit up the pop landsscape ever since.
