'Defence,' the first single from Toshín's debut album, is set for release on the 9th of November.

Rising Irish talent Toshín has announced new single 'Defence' from her forthcoming debut studio album I Own Everything.

Lead by the powerful vocals of Tosin Bankole, Dublin-based six-piece Toshín have been making waves in the Irish music scene since 2016, with their signature blend of soul-infused Pop-Funk.

An energetic declaration of self-confidence, 'Defence' is a remarkable showcase of Bankole's distinctive songwriting skills and vocal prowess. On the heels of a successful run of Ireland's festival circuits last year, as well as sold-out headline shows at Whelans and the Grand Social, Toshín's latest release is set for release on November 9th.

During a brief creative hiatus, Toshín set out to discover her true sound; pursuing a distinctly vibrant musical style, infused with notes of modern rock and pop, drawing sonically from legends of soul Aretha Franklin and James Brown. The six-piece's self-expressive and high-energy instrumentation, coupled with lead-vocalist Toshín's powerhouse vocals, make for an emphatic and undeniably infectious listening experience.

Oscillating from chilled-out soul to James Brown-inspired funk perfection, the band's exhilarating live shows have solidified Toshín's status as one of Ireland's most exciting new musical voices; also featuring amongst Hot Press's Hot for 2022 Irish Acts.

Following the release of their debut EP Get Your Life — which was released in 2019, and received high appraisal from John Barker of 98FM's Totally Irish segment — Toshín are poised to release their 10-track studio debut I Own Everything.

'Defence' is set to feature the collaborative talents of Tosin Bankole, and Tosin Adebayo, written in collaboration with Zapho, and produced by songwriter and producer Liam Geddes.

Toshín will also be performing a series of live dates in November and December, with performances in Berlin and London, as well as a gig in Galway on November 25th.
