Kick start your summer with Deep Sky Object's groovy new track.
Opening with a sonorous brass section, Deepy Sky Objects' new single solidifies itself as a bop from the very beginning.
Taking a detour from their broody self-titled EP, the band have decided to spice up their sound with an explosive new energy and a funky tune urging listeners to dance.
Despite the high-spirited and joyful melody, the lyrics dip into gloomy territory. Vocalist Kevin O'Brien believes he has "nothing to lose" as his sense of urgency pushes him to proposition a potential lover. This mindset thrusts the jovial emotions of the song with relief-fueled dopamine flooding O'Brien's voice.
The song captures the resonation of longing to escape but fearing what lies ahead in the unknown, preferring the comforting-yet-destructive devil you know. Deep Sky Objects experimented heavily with different instrumentation for this upbeat track yet it still has the arresting and trademark angst.

The track was recorded in Berlin with producer Ciaran O'Shea at Frank Zappa Strasse and then mastered by Latin-Grammy winner Ainsley Adams. Returning from supporting the Franks and Walters. They have already acquired a name for themselves and their no holds barred live shows. This summer will be spent touring as well as writing and recording their upcoming album. If 'Nothing To Lose' is anything to go by, the record promises to be something striking.
