Sony's 360 Reality Audio is said to create the feeling of being in a music studio or live concert venue.
A new immersive listening experience is coming to Tower Records in Dublin, where fans can listen to 10 iconic albums via 360 Reality Audio. Harry Styles’s Fine Line, Miles Davis’s Kind Of Blue, and SZA’s Ctrl are amongst the records on the carefully curated calendar.
Taking place at the chain’s Dawson Street location, classic releases from Tyler, The Creator, Daft Punk, Wu-Tang Clan, Rage Against The Machine, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, and Meat Loaf will all be getting spins – starting from Friday, February 16.

A listening room equipped with 7.2 surround sound will play each album in full, on repeat, using Sony's spatial sound technology, 360 Reality Audio.
"We have music fans of all ages visit the store in search of records and audio equipment – so this is a really interesting opportunity to highlight the distinctive appeal of each approach in our hi-fi room,” said Tower Records general manager Jospeh Plunkett.
“Whether you’re new to vinyl, or just curious to hear how immersive technology can transform an album you might already know so well. It’s incredibly exciting.”
Each album will be featured for 1 week in-full, on repeat.
