Our 'Hot For 2020' act return with their first release of the year.
With less than 24 hours to go until polling stations open, TPM have thrown themselves into the race by "making unemployment sexy again" – with the new music video for 'TPM Don't Have Your Money'.
A longtime live favourite, the highly anticipated official recording of the track doesn't disappoint: "The rent goes up, the wages stay steady/ You're watching Fine Gael ads on the telly/ They're telling you all about welfare cheats/ Be careful now child what you choose to believe, because/ TPM don't have your money, TPM are not the enemy/ If TPM had all your money, we wouldn't write songs, we'd be too lazy."
Formorian Vein, who co-produced the song with TPM, has dedicated it “to all the rural Irish TDs who are just there for the salary and invest fuck all into infrastructure when they get elected then wonder why young people can’t stand the place.”
It's not the first time the Dundalk duo, made up of brothers Charles and Andrew Hendy, have got political in the run-up to the general election.
"When there’s a homeless person paralysed by a digger and the politicians’ response is just to shift the blame around, you know it’s time for a change – and neither Fianna Fáil nor Fine Gael will make it," they told Hot Press as part of our 'Musicians on the General Election' series. "Use your vote to fuck Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil out of the place. And don’t vote for any of those racist crackpots either."
