Have a listen to the indie duo's soulful new single.
Wexford-born brothers Cillian and Lorcan Byrne comprise indie-folk outfit Basciville. Formed in 2016, their sound pulls inspiration from jazz and blues music, in combination with a folk sensibility and orchestral harmonies.
Their debut EP Blues in Red received considerable praise for the brothers' spontaneous and confident songwriting. They have since continued to release singles, while cementing their reputation as a must see live act. Basciville have toured throughout Ireland and Europe and graced the stage at massive festivals including Body and Soul, Electric Picnic and All Together Now.
Now, they have returned with brand new single 'Post-Youth'. Produced by Darragh Nolan of Asta Kalapa, the song embraces a Gothic R&B sound, inspired by Stevie Wonder’s ‘Pastime Paradise’ and the music of James Black.
Lyrically, the song tackles the dangers of both over-thinking things and relying too much on preconceived logic. With intense and captivating vocals, the track brings together raw energy with modern production.
