Hailing from border town Dundalk, Co. Louth - Orwells '84 are a unique musical outfit mixing indie folk, rock and trad into a delightful and individual sound.
Their debut single, 'Cailin' derives from superb production and a fully realised sound that sets them apart from many debuts. The backing vocals help create a spiritual quality to the song that's only heightened by the rumbling percussion and uplifting string instrumentals.
With an eclectic mix of inspirations from David Bowie, Guy Garvey and Nick Cave to The Libertines, the Arctic Monkeys and Led Zeppelin - the Dundalkians have learnt from the best to create something incredibly promising.
Orwells '84 have finished recording their very first EP and it's set for release both on vinyl and digitally this autumn. Keep an eye (and ear) out for this band bubbling with potential.
