Our Track of the Day comes from the Northern Irishman's first solo voyage.
Ahead of the release of his debut effort White Feather, The Answer front man Cormac Neeson has given a taste of what to expect from the project with his new single 'Don't Wait Up'.
The County Down native has been honing his craft over the past two years by working alongside country music royalty such as Tennessee songwriter of the year Corey Lee Barker, Steve O Brien, Blue Miller, James Elliot, and Allen McKendree Palmer. The recording process for specifically White Feather began in January of this year, with the material having subsequently been brought back to Belfast for mixing and mastering with the help of some of the region's finest musicians.
'Don't Wait Up' represents the first heard fruits of this labour, and is an introspective and soulful laid back folk rock effort that bodes well for the rest of the album, which is due for release in early 2019. The song is indicative of what promises to be an album carefully crafted by the singer-songwriter that largely focuses upon the "recent past that has served up its fair share of challenges and heartache".
