Their upcoming EP was recorded at Grouse Lodge Studios by Grammy Award winning producer Ted Hutt.
It's been a busy few years spent touring for Wexford alt-folk five-piece Corner Boy, who have only just recently returned from a six-date tour of South Korea, having previously taken in the Middle East, Florida, and everything in between on their travels.
Now back home and ready to release and perform new material, the band's first record in four years in the shape of their Goodbye Our Holy EP is set to drop on the 23rd of November. After the title track of the project caught the attention in June, the audio of their most recent single 'Moira (Under the Pale Moonlight)' followed in September and quickly made the RTÉ Radio 1 recommended playlist for that month, and they've now built upon that with a music video for the track which Hot Press is delighted to premiere.
The song itself impresses with front man Mick D’Arcy providing another fiery and emotive vocal performance alongside the band's traditional folk and contemporary infused sounds, while the visuals are made to match. It was shot under cover of darkness in an early autumnal hue and set across a number of townlands in Corner Boy's home of south county Wexford, and follows a protagonist whose story perfectly encapsulates the lyric "I've been running around these streets for too long now" as he searches for "the right words to say".
In support of the EP's release, Corner Boy will be performing a run of shows across the country this November and December. You can see the full list of dates and venues confirmed so far below, and keep an eye on their website for further announcements.
