Our track of the day comes from Limerick based singer/songwriter Dora Gola.
Combining a blend of pop, jazz, folk and indie sounds, Dora Gola earned success with her debut music video and single "I'm Not" which launched at the Richard Harris International Film Festival and screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017.
Holding a first class honours degree from the BA in Voice & Dance and MA in Music Performance, Dora also completed a 6 months course in Kinesiology (Dance major) at the California State University Northridge in Los Angeles, after which she went on to choreograph and co-produce an unofficial music video for famous music group in Poland – LemON - with an acknowledgment from the founder and singer of the band Igor Herbut.
Her self-titled EP was released in November, featuring one of Ireland's top guitarists Dave Keary and former bassist for Van Morrison, Paul Moore.
The first song off her EP, "Heartache", beautifully captures the fraught nature of relationships. With resonant lyrics, captivating vocals and simple arrangement, the track sweeps you along the wave of emotions its title promises.
