Listen to the track off the Canadian-born artist's new electro-folk EP 'Throwing Shapes'.
The daughter of Denise Flack of Celtic-pop band Leahy, Emily Jean Flack showcases her gorgeously pure vocals, injecting delightful electronic textures into the Celtic music she was raised with, on her newest EP Throwing Shapes. Moving to Limerick from Ontario, she studied traditional Irish music at the University of Limerick. She brings this expertise to her original music, while also pulling on pop and jazz influences. The EP features guest performances from major names in Irish folk music: whistle and flutist Brian Finnegan from the band Flook and guitarist Marty Barry.
Emily Jean Flack's modern and inventive take on Irish folk music can be heard in its full beauty on the EP's lead single 'Another Year Gone By'. Expressing love and longing for someone who is gone, Emily's vocals soar, accompanied by ethereal instrumentation.
