Not too fussed about seeing the Pope? The Late David Turpin has you covered.
The musician has released the first track from his forthcoming album Romances - 'Lucifer' - for free download via Soundcloud as counter-programming to the pontiff's visit.
The release also feels timely as the gothic horror romance The Lodgers - of which Turpin wrote the screenplay - dropped onto Netflix this weekend. 'Lucifer' could slide nicely onto that movie's soundtrack as it's a gorgeous ballad that walks the thin line between passion and danger.
Led by a melancholic saxophone and velvety vocals from Sack and Elevens frontman Martin McCann, the track imagines God's regret at the dogmatic blindness that led him to exile his true beloved: 'Lucifer'.
