Our track of the day is a special Christmas song from The Lost Brothers dedicated to their former manager
The Lost Brothers, Oisin Leech and Mark McCausland have recorded a Christmas mini-album with three brand new songs which includes our track of the day, ‘Keep Christmas In The Heart’.
The Irish duo have put this Christmas release together in memory of the late Frank Murray who passed away in December 2016. Frank managed The Lost Brothers, The Pogues, The Frames amongst many others and was a legendary figure in the Irish music industry.
Recordings were produced by Steve Shannon in Dublin and they feature special guests including Paul Brainard (M Ward, Decembrists, The Eels) Steve Wickham (The Waterboys), members of O Emperor and many more.
Speaking about former manager, the pair said: “Time stood still when we heard about the passing of our former friend and manager Frank Murray Christmas 2016. For a few golden years Frank and the Losties travelled the world together sharing bunks, buses and laughter along the way. Even when we drove him to his wits end he always brought nobility and humour to the moment. He was as strong as oak and a fountain of knowledge. We are eternally grateful for everything he taught us. We know this time of year is hard for his closest pals and family so we decided to do something that Frank was constantly asking us to do ie “record a Christmas song with a full band”....and so Frank...here it is...”
