Our Track of the Day comes from Dublin art-punks Silverbacks with their brand new track 'Just in the Band'.
Five-piece rock outfit Silverbacks are breaking into 2019 with a bang. During their New To Hot Press feature, all the way back in September, the band teased that they were working on new music with Girl Band’s Daniel Fox promising new material before Christmas.
Now, with their latest single ‘Just in The Band’ released today they’ve made good on that promise - and then some.
Resplendent with themes of false idolatry and a longing for deeper connections, the track is an indie rock anthem complete with hooks aplenty, taut drums and unrelenting bass.
Though the track is a marked move away from their indie roots, it manages to capture the same sense of malaise previous single ‘Dunkirk’ revelled in.

Following their storming set at Hard Working Class Heroes in September, Silverbacks – comprised of Daniel O’Kelly, Kilian O’Kelly, Peadar Kearney, Emma Hanlon and Gary Wickham - are due to play as part of the Other Voices festival on December 1st, with a headline gig in Whelan’s planned for December 8th.
