Æ MAK was deservedly named one of NPR Music's International Breakthrough Artists for 2020.
In the beginning, Aoife McCann (stage name Æ MAK) created a vision of an other-worldly landscape on which she could escape to and perform.
An energy inspiring primitive vocal rhythms, off the cuff melodic hooks, and lyrical content formed from the sound of the vocal metre - McCann makes art pop and performs it perfectly.
'i dance in the kitchen' is the giddy pop track being debuted to the world today by Æ MAK featuring Seba Safe, with a video by Tim Shearwood serving as an explanation of the song's origins.
Written, recorded and produced entirely by Aoife McCann during 2020's coronavirus lockdown, how to: make a kitsch pop song to show the world is the first EP of the two concept collections to be released on September 18 by Æ MAK.
The work is described as “a kitsch pop EP made through 100% child’s play and solo belly laughs.”
After a breakthrough year in 2019 with live appearances at Eurosonic, Iceland Airwaves, Reading & Leeds, Electric Picnic and international media support, the artist is exploding onto the pop scene with her own unique style.

The EP was crafted for Aoife McCann's friend Eleanor Jameson’s 'HOW TO' zine - launching this month.
The creative process was inspired by the ethos of the zine which is to bring a little light into the world during this dark time through play and creativity.
how to: make a kitsch pop song to show the world includes three more tracks; 'forevermorereplay', 'wedding day' and 'hey driver (!)'.
