New indie pop artist, Aimee Cuff, has released her captivating debut single, ‘Before We Were Us’.
Aimee Cuff has released her debut single ‘Before We Were Us’.
The track opens with gentle pop chords. This combined with a strong bass and Cuff’s delicate voice, creates a sonic experience that is ready to be blasted through car speakers on the motorway.
In the single, Cuff details how she is “standing on her own two feet,” marking not only a new beginning for herself in her personal life, but also her musical career.

Cuff takes inspiration from the likes of Holly Humberstone, Lizzy McAlpine and Maggie Rogers. This shows in the way she pulls heartfelt meaning and emotion into the lyrics of her song.

Hailing from a small town in West Ireland, Cuff has broken out into a new solo career after breaking free from writing and recording music as part of The Best Part which was composed of Cuff and David Dudeney.
She described the track as “the story of trying to find oneself again after feeling lost for so long.”
‘Before We Were Us’ marks the beginning of Cuff’s solo career that focuses on creating music that reflect her personal experiences from love and heartbreak to the complexities of growing up.
