Classical violist turned folk troubadour Ali Comerford has shared the third and final single from her highly anticipated debut album, Knots. 'Come Home' is a stunning, poignant track about needing to leave home to find it, and how it will always be there regardless of the passage of time.
"I wrote this song with someone in mind, but really it’s for anyone who wants to return home but feels that they can’t because too much has happened or too much time has passed," Comerford explains. "It is a reminder that home will always be there for them.
"The lyrics are filled with a hopeful longing, but as the song continues with the persistent plea of 'Come home', the message gets lost in a sea of turbulent strings."
Born and raised in Kilkenny, Comerford spent 14 years touring the world and performing viola in classical ensembles. She began playing at the age of 4, and studied at London's Royal Collete of Music. Returning home in 2020 allowed her to record a classically influenced, but folk-rooted debut album, which will be released on July 29.
