The emerging singer-songwriter rings in the new year with a scintillating track about letting go.
Following an impressive 2024, Audrey Bridgeman returns with her latest single ‘Songbird’.
Channelling bright fingerpicked guitar and gleaming percussion, the track opens with sparsely-appointed acoustics before driving Bridgeman’s radiant vocals into the foreground. Penned by the singer herself and trusted collaborator Gerry Hendrick, ‘Songbird’ features Bridgeman on vocals, drums and percussion with Hendrick providing masterful chops on guitar and synthesiser.
The song continues Bridgeman’s string of ambitious, percussion-focused releases, following on from ‘Highway’, ‘A Celtic Woman’ and ‘Come Away With Me’, the latter of which won three accolades at the LA Movie Awards and the Accolade Global Film Competition.
The track follows the hard-won journey of “letting go, being a light unto yourself, and making positive changes to make way for new people and opportunities” — a pretty compelling model for your 2025 resolutions.

‘Songbird’ was recently honored with a "Special Mention Award" in the Singer-Songwriter category for 2024 at the UK Songwriting Contest, a prestigious and long-running event that began in 2002 in collaboration with leading music organizations. Bridgeman’s recognition in 2024 charts the singer’s unending growth as an artist and writer, and it looks like 2025 will offer no such exception with new material on the way.
