Renowned Irish folk singer, Barry McCormak, has released a new single.
Barry McCormack has released his new emotive single ‘We Will Prevail’.
This track possesses the same qualities as a spoken-word piece as McCormack seems to be talking to his listeners with the message that even in difficult times they will still triumph.
The melody and bass of the track are light, highlighting McCormack's voice and the message he is sending. The singer-songwriter is an accomplished musician who was formerly a part of the Dublin based band Jubilee Allstars.
He left the group after they recorded their second album, Lights Of The City in 2001. The title track of that album was written by McCormack and he described it as “probably the first great song explicitly written about the bittersweet effects of urban gentrification.”
Since he departed from the group, McCormack has released seven albums over the course of his career. His eighth album, Painting Devils, is set to be released in September 2024.

McCormack released his debut solo album, We Drank Our Tears in 2003 and has since become a staple performer of traditional Irish folk music. He is constantly inspired by the tradition of street-singing.
