Rising English talent Bastie breaks up the static Christmas tune rotation with a seasonal ballad of heartfelt yearning.
Bastie, the musical pseudonym for Herefordshire musician Sebastian Ingram, shares his newest single ‘One Last Chance’ today, a piano ballad imbued with seasonal-induced nostalgia.
Formerly a UK Songwriting Competition Finalist, Bastie’s endearing, honest and authentic songwriting style is at the forefront of his first seasonal song. He’s come a long way since pre-lockdown, where the artist got his start gigging most nights around Herefordshire and London.
The UK singer-songwriter’s latest release is the result of dynamic collaboration with Bastie’s long-time producer Nick Brine, known for his work with Oasis and the Arctic Monkeys.
The tune opens with simple piano and strings. The instrumentals are evocative of seasonal blues, yet embedded with a thread of hope as Bastie sings the refrain, “If we went back to then, I’d hope that we’d begin again.”

‘One Last Chance’ sees Bastie settle into a different tempo from his usual indie-pop anthems, showcasing the singer’s pristine, soulful vocal range.
He soars into higher, tingling notes on the chorus peaks, before dipping to low, quivering valleys on the verses and bridge. With evocative lyrics that pull on the heart strings, Bastie seems to reach out to his listener with a nod to seasonal nostalgia.
Bastie returns revived from a successful 2023 festival season which saw the English singer-songwriter and former BBC ‘Introducing Artist of the Week’ take to the main stage at festivals such as Pub in the Park, Lakefest and Carfest.
Last year, Bastie blazed a path for himself with some impressive slots, including Boardmasters, Carfest North & South and a headlining performance at Pub in the Park 2022 alongside Mcfly and The Lightning Seeds.
