Becky McNeice, the songwriter and producer from Belfast has released her newest single.
Hailing from Belfast, Becky McNeice AKA DR Becks, has released her newest single ‘Alive’ as she continues to rise to stardom in the alternative pop scene.
Her mixture of catchy lyrics with her effortlessly fun melody will make the track a fan favourite. However, 'Alive' isn't only an upbeat pop track, as perceptive listeners will pick up on the melancholic undertones that add a layer of heartache- and depth, to the single.
McNiece's music pulls in inspiration from artists such as PinkPantheress and Biig Piig to create intimate and girly bedroom pop that marks her as one of the most exciting artists to be coming out of Ireland, and 'Alive' is a testament to that.
With her combination of sad lyrics and powerful instrumentals, 'Alive’ is the perfect addition to McNeice’s discography, which includes McNeice most recent release: a collaborative EP with Alicia Raye titled Love Letters in December of 2023.
This EP acted as McNeice's final release of 2023- a year which saw the Irish artist release five other singles including ‘Flatline’, ‘onemillionotherproblems’, ‘Phases’ ‘Wasting Time’ and ‘Yellow Glow’.

McNeice first gained traction in 2022 for her single ‘Lost Days’ when that song was picked up by Spotify editorial playlists New Music Friday UK and New Pop UK as well as put on playlists from Vogue and H&M.
For Becky McNiece's newest single ‘Alive’, the artist collaborated with fellow Belfast producer Eulogy, with the pair having worked together previously on McNeice’s 2022 single ‘In My Head’.
Even though her focus is on her music, Becky McNeice also has a degree in computer science from the University of Ulster- however the musician is committed playing down tracks rather than writing lines of code at the minute.
The artist will be releasing her first solo EP funded by PRS Women in Music on March 3.
Fans on McNiece's new track 'Alive' will have a chance to catch a live performance of the artist; McNiece makes up part of the St. Patrick’s Day events that will be held at The Festival Quarter at Collins Barracks in the Goal Next Gen show on March 16.
