Bubblegum is set to drop on January 20 via RCA.
Irish-raised, London-based artist Biig Piig has shared the third track from her Bubblegum EP (out January 20th) in the form of 'Picking Up'.
Fresh from being announced as one of the BBC Sound of 2023 longlist picks, the Cork native is speeding towards the release of her debut mixtape in January. Her latest track was produced by Mac Wetha, whose single she appeared on last week.
Following ‘Kerosene’ and ‘This Is What They Meant’; ‘Picking Up’ leans further into crunchy breaks and heavy beats. Riding the same drum 'n' bass, hyperpop waves as Piri and Tommy, PinkPantheress and Irish alt-pop act April, Biig Piig is merging classic club sounds with modern dance beats.
"'Picking Up’ is about wanting to run, get outside of your body, or go and punch something…anything to get the feeling out,” Biig Piig said in a press release. “I just love Deb and her energy: the track itself is heavy, but we had a lot of fun making a song about following anxiety and chaos.”
Deb Never added: “I’ve been a fan of Biig Piig for a while now so it holds dear to me that we created something special, especially with Mac Wetha, who is a close friend and who produced on the track. I’m elated to be a part of this song.”

2021's The Sky Is Bleeding EP saw her push onwards from her 2018 five-track EP, Big Fan of the Sesh, Vol.1, and 2019 sequel A World Without a Snooze, Vol.2. The singer-rapper is also going on tour in 2023, performing everywhere from Dublin, Cork and the UK, to New York, Los Angeles and Amsterdam.
