The beautiful Hector H. Romero-directed video showcases a dystopian battle for control over boundaries.
Dublin composer and producer BK Pepper has shared the video for his second single 'Alerts', following the release of his debut album Territories last November.
Simplistic debut single ‘Colours’ was the first track to be recorded for the upcoming album - with the string orchestra recorded in a converted swimming pool studio in London. Classically trained on piano and trombone, BK Pepper’s musical projects include composing for film and theatre as well as touring with both orchestras and rock bands.
'Alerts' is a stunningly melodic piece of work, with the forest setting illustrating an otherworldly fight for control over territory.
“The initial idea of the video spiralled into the sci-fi world," BK Pepper explains of the video's creative dimension.
"We wanted to create some much needed escapism and create a different place for a couple of minutes. We had been filming the video in between lockdowns. The whole project had to keep changing to abide by different restrictions. So we ended up doing it all outside and within Dublin’s perimeters.”

The Hot Press review of Territories last year described the compassion in Pepper's music emanating from each note:
"Even the more elaborate electronic sounds and string additions never threaten to overpower the overall track. Layer upon layer of atmosphere bleeds across this stunning album, but Pepper allows the audience to insert their own emotions into each song. The impact of the composer’s knack for understanding the music in cinema creates a collection of tracks that would elevate any film into another realm when used at the right moment."
