Listen to the Dublin artist's tender new track below.
Carpark Sci-Fi, aka Gav Cowley, returns with his new single 'Dawn Breaks', released ahead of his upcoming 10-song record Small Stories, out February 14.
A gently longing indie track, 'Dawn Breaks' is made up of sentimental acoustic guitar chords and longing vocal lines, with rich textures of smooth piano notes and transporting rythmic sections, making up a single that perfectly showcases the singularities of Cowley's sound.
The grainy, nostalgic visuals that accompany the song, which were entirely shot on a phone, encapsulate the emotionality of the sound in its tranquility and soothing quality.
Speaking of the video on Instagram, Cowley explained: "I kinda let the process dictate… Looked around, inhabited a space, waited..was kinda feeling a bit like this song these days, in a fog."
