The Limerick City-based roots rock collective, fresh off of the success of their debut single 'Canyon Music', have released an eclectic, infectious track 'A Few Blue Words For The Wise' that signals great things in the band's future.
Cascando are back, and they're bluesier than ever.
The second single from the Limerick-based roots rock collective, 'A Few Blue Words To The Wise' is a delicious combination of 1960s country and blues with some modern folk and soul thrown in, creating a track that gives an update to an iconic sound. It's “music that makes you want to square dance and carve wood,” as described by friends of the band, and we couldn't agree more.
'A Few Blue Words For The Wise' samples a handful of iconic country riffs, with whispers of brit-pop thrown into its vocal style. It's a jangly soundscape with a lively attitude, that remains fresh and earnest. Its production quality is impressive given the relative youth of the collective, perhaps attributed to the well-established musician and producer Chris Quigley of The PVP and Cruiser.
Though the group is made up of almost a dozen artists, Cascado is driven mostly by five core members. Their first single as a collective, 'Canyon Music', was very well received when it released earlier this year and signaled the start of a mini Irish tour. Cascando sold out three headline gigs in Limerick's Commercial, Galway's Aras na nGael and Dublin's Sound House, and have been building up their live repertoire by playing dozens of other shows around Limerick.

The two released singles from the collective will feature on their debut EP, which is scheduled to release in October. They recently announced a follow-up tour around Ireland, with the dates themselves yet to be announced.
We can't wait to see what's in store of Cascando, and if the rest of their upcoming EP is anything like what we've gotten from the band already, we'll be sure to listen in.
