Chósta’s debut, self-titled, EP will be released on July 2.
Irish producer and Dublin Digital Radio regular Chósta has shared the video for his latest track, 'Avalanche' - taken from his forthcoming EP.
Chósta is the moniker of Conor Kelly, an electronic artist who draws heavily on playful sampling and driving bass-lines, citing influences as far reaching as Boards of Canada, J Dilla, Mobb Deep, Talk Talk, John Coltrane and Planxty.
Following on from his ‘It’s You On My Mind', ‘Rush Hour' and 'The Coldest Stare'; 'Avalanche' sees the talent use field recordings and environmental sounds to create an ambient zone.
Having grown up near Donabate beach on the North Dublin coast, Chósta's upcoming EP channels the turbulent winds and still moments of the land into a creative, four-track offering.
Chósta aims to evolve his sound on his latest single, showcasing range and versatility - inspired by Australian group Severed Heads.
The track is built around an organ melody, using contrast and disparate elements blended together to create tension between the pop vocal sample and the harsher percussion.

As well acting as a producer, Chósta hosts a monthly Dublin Digital Radio show titled ‘Midnight Tapes' with Ciaran Mulryan. The show brings together the duo's eclectic tastes, combining everything from Brazilian disco to ethereal ambient tunes.
