The band describe their debut as "an indie rock song made for and by queer women."
Dublin band Ciúnas’ have highlighted the irony in their name with the release of their attention grabbing debut single, ‘Foggy’.
Based on the experiences of young queer women, the conversational lyrics transform a whirlwind of emotions into a breeze, making a unique theme relatable to the masses.
With a hazy mix of jangling guitars and a steady drum beat, the song lives up to its name, with the laid-back tempo creating a moody atmosphere that would be at home in any Phoebe Bridgers track.
The drums that build throughout the song reach their breaking point as they crash into the final verse, with lead singer Lola Coady displaying her impressive vocals as the emotion finally boils over.
The band announced the release on their Instagram, giving thanks to “everyone who pre saved, to anybody who’s already listened and to everyone else for the support you’ve shown us.”
“This is only the beginning for Ciúnas and we’re so happy to have you with us!”

A four-person girl band, the group came together over their shared music taste, citing CMAT and The Cranberries as some of their biggest influences.
The band first performed together in 2023, delivering a sold-out show at the Grand Social, and have been performing together since.
