In the past year, acclaimed Kerry singer-songwriter Conor Byrne has signed with Budde Publishing and landed his first major record deal with Sony Music/RCA Germany.
Irish musician and producer Conor Byrne recently dropped poignant down-tempo track 'Be Human' - his impressive first single after signing with Sony Music Germany/RCA Records.
Having grown up focusing on his love of music in Kerry, Byrne began songwriting at a young age after finding inspiration in the catalogues of Damien Rice, James Bay, James Morrison and David Bowie.
Honing his craft over the last few years writing for himself others, Conor found viral success with his single 'Island in the Sun'. The collaborative track with Gamper & Dadoni has racked up more than 25 million streams to date.
His debut single 'Bloodstream' landed in 2019, produced by Edd Holloway (Lewis Capaldi, Dean Lewis). Creating contemporary pop music which balances organic and electronic elements, 'Be Human' features slick production and Byrne's stunning, raw vocal talent.
"'Be Human' is a song about how someone can forget what it feels like to be human. They're lacking in love or emotion to the point of numbness; an almost robotic nature," Conor tells Hot Press.

"It's common feeling which has become even more relevant in the last year, with everyone at away from friends, family and loved ones. Sometimes we just need someone or something to give us a little bit of love to get back from that mechanical feeling to become human again, to become ourselves again."
“I wanted the message of the song to focus on how we all deal with emotions differently, and how normal it is to sometimes not feel like yourself," Byrne adds. "That's just part of what it is to be human."
The emerging European talent has plenty more singles lined up, with his forthcoming track set to be released on June 3rd.
Conor was living in London before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and moved back to Ireland last year. Ideally, he'll be back in the UK capital again as soon as possible, as his management and team are based there.
Live shows are most definitely on the agenda after Byrne spent two years penning a rake of songs, with 2021/22 set to be a major year for the fast-rising artistic talent.
